Soe Ker Tie House (Noh Bo, Tak, Thailand)

TYIN tegnestue is a non-profit organization working humanitarian through architecture. TYIN is run by five architect students from NTNU and the projects are financed by more than 60 Norwegian companies, as well as private contributions.

Through the course of the last year TYIN has worked with planning and constructing small scale projects in Thailand. We aim to build strategic projects that can improve the lives for people in difficult situations. Through extensive collaboration with locals, and mutual learning, we hope that our projects can have an impact beyond the physical structures.

Flickr finds: Thai benches

In thinking about seating for CTS, would it work to do it along the circulation paths in strategic places inspired by the traditional Thai way of doing it?

The benches hang slightly off the edge of the raised terrace...this could be reimagined in metal, concrete or wood, and combined with planters. I think it could work well on the second level, especially in the area surrounding the courtyard to maximize the circulation space.

Joyful stewardship

Thank you, David, for letting me tag along on the trip to Prabat. I was so impacted by the perspective of the church leaders there who aren't waiting for finalized plans or completed fund raising goals to start using their land for God's glory. Instead, they are harvesting produce and organizing camping trips. What a poignant reminder to live fully in the present!
